1. Acceptance
By creating an account or using LitHypo ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. Account
You are responsible for the accuracy of your registration information and for safeguarding your password. You must be at least 16 years old. One account per person; no sharing of credentials. Lab tier accounts may be shared among up to 5 lab members.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit content you don't have the right to share (e.g., confidential or copyrighted papers without permission).
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service except via a coordinated disclosure to feedback@lithypo.com.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or use the Service to train competing AI models.
- Use the Service to generate medical, legal, or financial advice for end users.
- Use the Service for clinical decision-making affecting actual patient care.
- Attempt to evade rate limits, billing, or access controls.
- Submit content that includes patient-identifying information (PHI) or other regulated health data without appropriate consents and protections in place.
4. AI-generated content (not advice)
LitHypo uses large language models (Anthropic Claude) to generate hypotheses, critiques, and analyses. Output is for research ideation only and may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. It is not medical, clinical, regulatory, legal, or financial advice. You are responsible for independently verifying any output before acting on it. Do not use output to make decisions about patient care, research subject welfare, or any consequential real-world action.
Confidence ratings (HIGH/MEDIUM/LOW) reflect the model's estimate of literature support strength. They are not statistical predictions and have not been empirically validated against real research outcomes.
5. Your content and IP
You retain all rights to the content you submit (topics, notes, uploads). You grant us a limited license to process it solely to operate the Service. We don't use your content to train AI models, and we don't share it with third parties except subprocessors listed in the Privacy Policy.
We retain all rights to the Service itself, including the website, code, design, brand, and prompts.
6. Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. You authorize recurring charges until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your billing settings; access continues until the end of the paid period. Refunds are at our discretion and generally not provided for partial periods. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice.
7. Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that pose a security or abuse risk, with or without notice. On termination, your data is deleted per the retention rules in the Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI-generated output is accurate, complete, novel, or suitable for any particular research purpose.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from or related to the Service is limited to the greater of USD $100 or the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or exemplary damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, research outcomes, or grant funding decisions.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here and, where appropriate, sent by email. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the changes.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at our place of business. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
